Pueblo Del Sol Community Center

    About

Located in the heart of Boyle Heights, California, the Pueblo Del Sol Community Center was designed as a vibrant gathering place that supports education, culture, and community connection. Developed for the Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles and completed in 2005, the 6,000-square-foot facility serves as a cornerstone of the broader Aliso Village revitalization effort.

Strategically positioned along First Street near the future light rail corridor, the center was envisioned as both a neighborhood anchor and a catalyst for continued growth. Its flexible, light-filled spaces accommodate a wide range of community activities, including farmers markets, art exhibitions, craft fairs, educational programs, and public events, creating opportunities for residents and visitors to connect and engage.

At the heart of the facility is a nonprofit computer learning center featuring classrooms, computer labs, conference rooms, and adaptable office spaces. These resources provide access to technology, education, and workforce development opportunities, helping empower individuals and strengthen the community's economic future.

The project is part of a larger mixed-income development that includes housing, retail spaces, and integrated social services. Guided by a community-focused design approach, Pueblo Del Sol Community Center reflects a commitment to creating welcoming, inclusive environments that foster stability, opportunity, and a lasting sense of belonging.

Project initiated and led as Design Director as a co-founder / partner at QDG Architecture.
