At R² design studio, inc., architecture is more than the design of buildings. Leadership
Ricardo Rodriguez, CEO of R² design studio, inc., brings over three decades of experience shaping the built environment through a deeply human-centered lens. His work is driven by a lifelong fascination with how cities grow, evolve, and influence the communities within them. This perspective has led him to thoughtfully integrate social and cultural narratives into architecture, particularly in the revitalization of urban neighborhoods.
Ricardo’s approach to design is both rigorous and intuitive. He challenges conventions within the firm while elevating its creative vision, ensuring that every project is grounded in a clear conceptual framework. By synthesizing client goals, user experience, site context, and programmatic needs, he crafts environments that are both purposeful and enduring.
Raised in affordable housing, Ricardo’s early experiences continue to shape his philosophy on community transformation. He believes that meaningful change begins with the environment itself, by reimagining the spaces people inhabit, architecture can positively influence how they live, connect, and thrive. His work in urban design reflects a strong commitment to pedestrian engagement and the principles of placemaking, emphasizing the importance of creating spaces that foster identity and belonging.
A graduate of California State Polytechnic University, Pomona with a Bachelor of Architecture, Ricardo balances visionary thinking with a practical understanding of real-world challenges. His leadership continues to guide R² design studio, inc. in delivering thoughtful, impactful design solutions that resonate far beyond the built form.
