3801 Residential Community Campus

    About

Located along South Grand Avenue in Los Angeles, the 3801 Residential Community Campus is envisioned as a place of renewal, growth, and human connection. Developed for the Amity Foundation, the four-story campus represents an investment in supportive housing, education, wellness, and community centered programming. Situated on a compact 0.43-acre urban site, the project transforms its footprint into a thoughtfully integrated environment designed to foster stability, opportunity, and belonging for residents and visitors alike. The campus is intended to serve as both a functional facility and a welcoming presence within the surrounding neighborhood.

The architectural approach prioritizes openness, dignity, and safety from the moment visitors arrive. A secure yet inviting entry sequence leads to the enrollment and reception area, where carefully designed waiting areas, interview rooms, and administrative offices create a calm and supportive first point of contact. The experience is intentionally human centered, emphasizing comfort, accessibility, and respectful interaction throughout the campus.

The ground floor functions as the social and communal heart of the development, bringing together spaces that encourage daily interaction, wellness, and engagement. A commercial kitchen and restaurant style dining area provide a shared environment where meals become opportunities for connection and community building. Adjacent lounge spaces, living rooms, television areas, and a quiet library create a balance between social activity and personal reflection, allowing residents to engage at their own pace within a comfortable and supportive setting.

Additional gathering spaces reinforce the campus’s role as a center for learning and collaboration. A large multipurpose room and board room accommodate meetings, educational programs, and community events, while a dedicated family interaction room creates space for residents to maintain meaningful relationships with loved ones. Wellness and recreation are integrated throughout the design, with an indoor fitness center complemented by outdoor plaza and recreation areas that extend activity into open air communal spaces.

The upper floors are organized to support both residential living and personal development. Shared residential accommodations are designed to provide comfort, structure, and a sense of community while maintaining privacy and functionality for students and program participants. Integrated classrooms and circle rooms support education, mentorship, counseling, and dialogue, reinforcing the campus’s mission of growth and rehabilitation. Additional offices, wellness facilities, laundry services, and support spaces ensure that residents have access to essential daily resources within a cohesive living environment.

Spanning approximately 27,530 square feet, the 3801 Residential Community Campus is designed as more than a residential facility. It is a comprehensive community environment that promotes stability, empowerment, and connection. Through the integration of housing, education, wellness resources, and gathering spaces, the project reflects the Amity Foundation’s commitment to creating supportive environments where individuals can rebuild their futures with dignity, guidance, and opportunity.
